Many congratulations to garden designer Christina Cobb (pictured below) for being awarded a Silver Gilt Medal for The Restorative Balcony Garden at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show! Sponsored by Viking, the garden features a mix of reclaimed items and new materials creating an environmentally conscious outdoor space.
And of course, I loved the planting in a palette of purple and white! Designed to attract pollinators, it features fragrant shrubs including Buddleia, Star jasmine and herbs. The water table doubles up as a birdbath and source of meditative sound.
Reclaimed teak is used for practical shelving, a simple pergola, and inviting lounge chairs from which the balcony can be enjoyed. Salvaged terracotta pots flank the entrance to the space and decorate the shelves on the rear wall.
It was so lovely to meet Christina at the show. Thank you for allowing me to step into your beautiful garden to take some additional photos! If you’d like to follow Christina, simply head over to her Instagram account.
P.S. You also may like to check out this other Chelsea balcony garden, which I featured earlier in the week.
