At this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the Bull Ring Gate is beautifully decorated using British flowers, foraged foliage and handmade ceramic structures by florist Poppy Sturley, supported by Laduree. Featured blooms include roses, honeysuckle, jasmine, lupins and philadephus. Every element of the design is reusable or natural, including the hazel mechanics at the base of the structure.
In an Instagram post this week, Poppy said: “My aim was to gently acknowledge our pollinators by creating a swarm of seasonal, sustainably-grown flowers around the pillars. Nestled amongst the flowers and vines are clay and plaster rag sculptures of chrysalis’, bees and a looping hive plus handmade silk butterflies. Using sculptures and hidden details, I hope, will show that the more you look, the more you’ll find – the message at the base of this design.“
