Created by Lucy Vail at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show is this wonderful floral installation adorning London Gate. Titled ‘Another Blooming Heatwave’ and inspired by the movement of the sea, Lucy has created two breaking waves of pink flowering plants and over 3,000 cut stems from British growers across the country.
Kimberly Fleming, The Marlston Farmgirl, supplied over 500 tulips in their bulbs, as well as providing thousands more stems of other seasonal blooms. Amanda Vail from Floriston Flower Farm and Demelza Leng from The Unwalled Garden also supplied ranunculus, cornflowers and sweet rocket.
Lucy said on Instagram: “With the British season starting much later this year, designing for this year’s show has been a total rollercoaster to put it mildly! We originally planned for an all blue design but switched to a pink palette to better align with the ever-changing seasons and I’m actually so pleased we did because it has given us the perfect opportunity to celebrate the amazing women we work with.“
