Beautifully demonstrating how to create a cut flower patch as an allotment is The Sunnyside of Life Allotment at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival! And it was so lovely to meet two of the wonderful ladies behind the allotment’s creation, Julie Woodford from Madge & Ivy Flowers (left) and Sarah Vaux (right) below.
Sponsored by home and lifestyle store, Cook & Butler, this flower-abundant allotment features raised beds, recycled pots, crates and vintage finds. A recycled greenhouse at the back of the allotment is used for sowing and growing annual and perennial flowers, such as scabious, delphiniums and sweet peas, as well as herbs for scented foliage. Isn’t it such a magical outdoor space?!
